Miguel Barbero (1953) was born in Hinojosa del Duque, Córdoba. Since the age of 11, he has lived in Madrid, where he discovered his passion for painting by visiting museums and exhibition halls from a very early age. His interest in art led him to study drawing and painting, and later, to attend the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid to study life drawing.
Throughout his artistic career he has developed a distinguished path as a painter. He held his first exhibition in Toledo in 1977, and since then, he has maintained a prolific career, participating in numerous national painting shows and competitions. He has exhibited in various Spanish cities, such as Toledo, Talavera de la Reina, Córdoba, Oviedo, Bilbao, Granada, Zaragoza, and Madrid, among others. In addition to his exhibition activity, he has been recognized for his dedication to art, being mentioned in important specialized publications such as El Punto de las Artes, ABC, and Revista Goya, among others.
Miguel Barbero’s work is represented in important museums and collections both nationally and internationally. Some of the most notable exhibition spaces include the Museum of Contemporary Art in Móstoles (Madrid), the Museum of Contemporary Art in Osaka (Japan), the Ponce Museum of San Juan in Puerto Rico, and the Doctor Tejerina Foundation in Madrid. His works are also part of collections such as the Casa de Alba (Madrid), various savings bank collections, and the Excmo. Ayuntamiento of Madrid, among others. Throughout his career, he has participated in international fairs and exhibitions such as Arte Santander, Arte Actual (Madrid), and Interarte (Valencia), solidifying his presence in the contemporary art world.
