Jaime Picazo

Jaime Picazo is an artist from Barcelona, known for his academic background in Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree between 2000 and 2008. In 2011, he completed a Postgraduate in Drawing at the same university. Throughout his career, he has continued his education through various courses and workshops, including the III Pre-Doctoral Conference in 2008. He has also participated in art critique workshops at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA) in Barcelona and studied mural painting at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi.

Throughout his artistic career, he has become known primarily for his realistic and figurative approach. He has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, both in Spain and internationally. His work spans various techniques, but always with a particular focus on realistic painting and urban landscapes. Some of his most notable exhibitions include “L’Ànima de la ciutat” at the Centre Cultural Can Fabra in Barcelona in 2013, and his participation in the Spanish Galleries Art Fair in Madrid. Over the years, his work has been selected and awarded in several painting competitions, standing out for his ability to capture the essence of the city and the surrounding environment.

Jaime Picazo’s journey in the art world has been marked by significant awards and scholarships, such as the First Painting Prize Montserrat Riu in 2008, and study scholarships from the Real Artistic Circle of Barcelona and the Segovia Provincial Government. He has been recognized with several painting prizes, including the Acquisition Prize from Caja Castilla-La Mancha in 1992, and was a finalist in prestigious international competitions such as the Ceferino Olivé Prize. In addition to his exhibitions, his work has been included in important public and private collections and recognized by institutions such as Fundación Mafre Vida and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona.
