Pedro Calderón

Pedro Calderón (Santander, 1961) is a Spanish artist known for his surrealist creations that evoke a sense of wonder and curiosity. He holds a degree in Social Education from the UNED and a Higher Technician qualification in Plastic Arts and Design with a focus on Projects and Direction of Decoration Works. Coming from a family deeply connected to the world of jazz and painting, his artistic roots trace back to notable figures like Ramón, Fernando, and Juan Carlos, all of whom have made their mark in the art world.

Calderón’s artistic career is marked by his regular exhibitions in various galleries and artistic spaces. His work, primarily in acrylics and minimal sculptures integrated into large painted panels, reflects his unique approach to exploring human forms, often through small humanoid figures interacting with objects in a vast world. These pieces, filled with beauty and wonder, continue the surrealist tradition that defines much of his work. He has held over 50 exhibitions throughout his career, including at institutions such as the Centro Cultural de la Villa de Portugalete, the Residencia de Castro Urdiales, and the Casa Museo Marqués de Valdecilla. His exhibitions have also reached international venues like the Este Gallery in Santander, the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, the Boticelli Gallery in Seville, and cities like Florence, Milan, and Chicago.

Pedro Calderón’s work is celebrated for its independent spirit and artistic versatility, bridging the realms of illustration, sculpture, and painting. He continues to exhibit regularly at the Inder_Espacio Gallery in Santander, where he showcases new works every year, maintaining his presence in the Spanish and international art scenes.
