Who
We Are
Visionaries in Art
At MadameFlihan, our legacy is a rich tapestry woven from decades of passion, tradition, and an unwavering commitment to the arts.
Our Story
At MadameFlihan, we are passionate about art and its ability to connect people across cultures. Founded as a third-generation family enterprise, our roots lie in Spain, where art has been a cornerstone of our family for decades. Today, we proudly operate from Loulé in the Algarve region of Portugal, where we continue to foster connections between artists, collectors, and enthusiasts. Our gallery is a reflection of this rich heritage, bringing together diverse forms of artistic expression under one roof.
Heritage
and Passion
A Heritage Rooted in Art & Passion; Since 1990, our family has been a compass in the world of art. As Maria Parra , our Senior curator & Arts Director, explains: My dad has always guided us through the vibrant corridors of exhibitions, the exhilarating atmosphere of auctions, and the intimate sanctuaries of artists’ studios. His profound connections, forged over three decades with contemporary artists—particularly built in Madrid and beyond—have made him a respected figure in the artistic community, while his expertise has been invaluable in preserving our collections.
Why Algarve, Portugal?
Our decision to open a new gallery in the Algarve is both a strategic and heartfelt one; The Algarve is a vibrant arts scene committed to cultural development and is home to a growing community of contemporary artists.
The intention of opening in Loulé stems from the Algarve’s growing reputation as a cultural hub. The region is home to vibrant festivals, an artistic community, and a strategic location that attracts visitors from across the globe.
By situating our gallery here, we bridge the cultural dialogue between Portugal, Spain, and the Middle East—regions that have long shared artistic and cultural connections.
Mission
and
Vision
In MadameFlihan Algarve we aim to bridge Cultures Through Art by creating a space where artists, especially Spanish and Portuguese, can showcase their work side by side, fostering cross-cultural appreciation and collaboration while engaging the community by hosting exhibitions, and a vast array of services and events that contribute to nurturing emerging talent; Painters, sculptors, and digital artists have established studios in the region, contributing to its reputation as an artistic haven.
We invite you to join us in this exciting new endeavour. Together, let’s explore the endless possibilities of our art.
